Thank you for your interest in the Mass Data Safety Workshops

Our goal is to help you keep your sensitive business information safe. This includes helping you comply with 201 CMR 17, the new Massachusetts data security regulations.

This is an interactive workshop. We will work together to develop sensible, written security plans for members of the group, and wrestle with the challenges of implementing those plans in a frugal, effective way. Once you have registered, we will call you with details about the workshop, and tell you how to download the templates and fill them in before the workshop.

The price for the workshop is $175 per organization. Registration includes up to three members of your organization who wish to attend; a one-year subscription to our template library of security plans, which we expect to grow as former attendees contribute their own plans as additional examples; and contact information for people who have attended the workshop. There are no refunds, but you are welcome to attend the workshop on a different date. If you cannot attend the workshop on the date that you signed up for, call us at 617-325-9526 to reschedule.

Most workshops are 1:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. at one of these sites:

Boston Nature Center is a 5-minute drive, or a brisk 25-minute walk, from the MBTA Forest Hills Station. You can get there by foot, bus, or car. Plenty of parking is available. The Boston Nature Center is wheelchair-accesible, as our bookkeeper, Linda, has demonstrated. Especially if you come along Walk Street from American Legion Highway, it is easy to take the wrong entrance for parking; be sure to follow the directions carefully.
New Art Center, 61 Washington Park, Newtonville, Massachusetts, near Newton Corner. You can get there by bus, commuter rail, or the Mass Pike. Plenty of parking is available. The New Art Center is not wheelchair accessible. We hope that some of the revenue from workshops we hold there will help the Center with its accessibility plans. If you want to bring children with you, we will provide an art class for them at no extra charge while you are in the workshop.

To register for a workshop date below, click the Pay Now button for the workshop you want to attend. That will take you to PayPal, where you can either sign in and pay with your PayPal account or NOT sign in and pay with the credit card of your choice. Note: If you want to pay with your business credit card, do not login to your personal PayPal account; instead of charging your business credit card, PayPal will charge the personal credit card or bank account associated with your personal PayPal account. To pay with a check, call us at 617-325-9526 to make arrangements.

We will contact you soon after you register; please let us know at that time if you have any needs we can help you with. Let us know if you would like to bring children with you. If we know children are coming, we will offer an art class for kids, at no extra cost, while you are in the workshop.

Note: The template library is intended to help you develop a sensible, written security plan for your organization. But we strongly encourage you to attend a workshop if you can, rather than just purchasing the templates. A workshop is an excellent opportunity to discuss data security and network with people in similar positions in their organizations. Therefore, there is no discount for not attending a workshop.
